Can an AI agent actually book with you?

Being mentioned by ChatGPT is step one. Step two is whether an AI agent, acting for a customer, can find your price, choose you, and start a booking. Anserra tests that with a real browser agent, and no other visibility tool does.

Why this matters now

Assistants are moving from answering questions to completing tasks: “book me a cleaning for Tuesday”, “find a mechanic and get a quote”. When an agent cannot read your prices, cannot find the booking button, or hits a CAPTCHA wall, it moves on to a competitor whose site it can use. That loss never shows up in analytics, because the agent never converted.

What the agent does

Anserra's agent (AnserraBot) opens your site in a real browser and tries five tasks a customer would delegate to an assistant. It follows links that are already on the page. It does not fill in forms, does not click submit, and does not create bookings or orders. Reaching the booking or checkout page counts as success.

  • Understand the offer: what you do, for whom, where
  • Find the price or a price range for a named service
  • Find the way to book: page, form, phone, or third-party widget
  • Check the conditions: hours, cancellation, service area
  • Reach a human: phone number or contact path that is readable as text

What you get

A task-by-task result with the exact step where the agent stopped, a screenshot of that step, and the reason in plain words: “prices only in a PDF image”, “booking opens a modal that needs JavaScript the agent cannot run”, “phone number is an image”. Each blocker is turned into a fix in your plan, ranked by how many tasks it unblocks.

Levels

Results map to the Agent-Ready Local Services levels: L0 (not readable by agents), L1 (readable: offer, contact and hours in text), L2 (bookable: an agent can reach the booking step), L3 (interoperable: machine-readable availability via /.well-known/agent-service.json). The spec is open; the L0–L2 validator is free.

Questions about agent readiness check

Will the agent create a fake booking on my site?

No. The agent only follows links that already exist on the page. It never fills in fields, never submits forms, and stops once it reaches the booking or checkout address. This is written into our Terms of Service, section 3.

Which model powers the agent?

The Observatory browser agent runs on an Anthropic Claude model. It identifies itself as AnserraBot with a link to anserra.io/bot.

How is this different from a Lighthouse or SEO audit?

Those check page speed and markup. Agent Readiness checks whether a task can be completed: can the agent find a price and reach a booking. A site can score 100 on Lighthouse and still be unusable for an agent.

Can I block the agent?

Yes, by adding a Disallow rule for the AnserraBot user-agent in your robots.txt. Details on the AnserraBot page.
